You can only use styling products which are heat resistant and which are specially made for this purpose. If you use these products, always clean the hair straightener afterwards.
A regular straightener cannot be used on wet hair. We have a number of straighteners in the range that you can use on both wet and dry hair.
If you use the styling iron wisely and within certain limits, your hair will not be damaged. The use of oils and/or other special products also helps limit damage to your hair (you can seek advice at a pharmacy or at the hairdresser). Proper maintenance of the styling iron is also essential to prevent damaged hair. Make sure to keep the plates clean.
Remnants of styling products can remain on the plates, which can break hair or lead to the hair straightener pulling on a stuck lock of hair. Regular use of a ceramic styling iron may in fact improve the quality of your hair. Make sure you use hair care products that look after hair, such as heat-resistant creams and soothing balms.
Many of these products also contain shine enhancers, such as silicone, that prevent the styled hair from drying out. In principal you can use a regular styling iron without any problem, but the more you use a styling iron, the more you need to take care of your hair.
Wait until the appliance is cooled and then wipe it with a clean, damp cloth.
Determine whether you want to create an inward or outward wave.Hold the appliance so that the curved plates make the desired type of wave.Grab a lock of hair of about 3 - 4cm wide. Place the lock of hair approximately 3 - 5cm above the hair between the plates and squeeze the handles of the appliance firmly together. Pull the styler down along the hair in a few seconds. If the plates are 3 - 5cm above the end of the lock of hair, turn the appliance slightly toward the direction of the desired wave (see figure) for optimum effect. Do not hold the styler still anywhere when pulling the styler down along the lock of hair to prevent overheating. Repeat this process after 20 seconds until you've achieved the desired result. Let your hair cool. Do not comb or brush the hair until it is cool, because this will spoil the hairstyle you have created.
You have perhaps clamped too much hair between the plates. When using the styling iron, make sure the locks are not wider than 5 - 6cm to achieve a good result.
Perhaps the appliance was not hot enough, because you did not allow it enough time to warm up. Set a higher temperature setting, wait until the appliance is heated up and try again. Do not touch the plates/rod as this could burn your fingers, even if the appliance has not yet reached the set temperature setting.
These depend on the type, see the specifications for each product.
The secret to soft, protected and healthy hair is to use this highly advanced technology that makes static electricity a thing of the past. The temperature can be precisely set and the infrared heat is evenly distributed
This technology eliminates 99.9% of bacteria and toxins in your hair. As a result, hair does not dry out and retains its colour. For natural, shiny hair
Ceramic plates protect the hair better against overheating and damaging because the warmth is better distributed.
Unplug the appliance and allow it to cool down. Use a soft, slightly damp cloth to wipe the appliance surfaces. Do not allow water or any other liquid to get into the unit.
Step 1: Unplug the appliance and let it cool down completely.
Step 2: Wipe the appliance with a soft, slightly damp cloth.
Step 3: Clean the air suction opening occasionally with a fine brush.
Caution: Do not allow any liquid to get into the unit.
This technology stimulates the emission of negative ions and heat, which keeps the hair moist and hair cuticles closed. This helps maintain the presence of natural oils and allows you to effortlessly achieve the same result as a hairdresser.
We recommend always applying a protective lotion or spray to your hair before using a straightener. This makes your hair less dry and/or damaged. This must be a product that is specifically designed for use with a straightener (no mousse, wax or hairspray).
Probably not. In many cases new appliances sometimes produce an odour when they are first used. This is normal and it stops after you have used the appliance several times. If it does not stop, clean the appliance with a damp cloth after it has cooled. When you heat it up the next time, the smell should have disappeared. If this is not the case, please contact Princess. We will gladly be of assistance.
In general a higher temperature means faster straightening of the hair but also a higher risk of damaging the hair. Try to use the lowest temperature possible to straighten your hair. Curly and difficult to straighten hair will need a higher temperature. Special caution is needed with coloured, bleached and light hair.
Yes, do however use it under adult supervision.
Yes, but do not use it too frequently. The high temperature can damage your hair. Use special creams or oils to protect your hair from damage.
Yes, but make sure your hair is dry before using it.
Yes, the curling iron is available in different models with different accessories, for short, long, thick or thin hair.
Turn it off and let it cool completely. Then you can wipe the rod and the handgrip with a damp cloth. Never immerse the appliance in water! The round styling brush can be cleaned in soapy water.
Depending on the temperature you have chosen and the type of hair you have, you may use the curling iron no longer than 10 seconds in your hair. This may be longer for thick hair and shorter for thin hair. You can try out what temperature corresponds to what number of seconds for the desired result, but be very careful because you can damage your hair if you keep the curling iron in your hair too long.
Perhaps you have wrapped too much hair around the rod. Do not make the lock of hair too thick when using the curl attachments or slidable brush. The thinner the lock of hair, the tighter the curl will be. Perhaps you have not kept the attachment in your hair long enough. Keep the styler in your hair for 5 to 10 seconds, depending on the thickness of the lock of hair.
